Thanks.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. While I was at work today I was asking some of our residents what they are thankful for. One of my favorite residents said, "being here." Another said she was thankful for everything, even the bad things, because it's the bad things that make the good things count. It really makes ya stop and think when people who are much worse off than you have such positive attitudes. So what am I thankful for?

God. Don't know where I'd be without Him. He has gotten me through a lot in life, and I am so grateful to know Him! :)

MIKE HIGLEY. He's a goofball of a husband, and I wouldn't trade him for anything (despite what Grandma Orn says). I can't imagine what life would be like without him, and I hope I don't ever have to find out!

My family and friends. Everyone who is in my life is in it for a reason. I love you all and am grateful for everything that you do! I could seriously go on and on listing everyone I know, but that would take a hundred and seventy five years. So I won't. You all know who you are :)

And I am so thankful for my health! I work in a place with a lot of sick people, and it really makes me appreciate the fact that I can breath, walk, and talk easily.

I am so fortunate to be where I am, and I often take it for granted. It is nice to be reminded how truly blessed I am.

Night by Elie Wiesel.

I started reading this book yesterday. I have to read it for my History class. I am only about half way done, but this book is amazing. It is probably the saddest book I've ever read, and it is a true story. If you have never heard of this book, it is about a young boy (Elie Wiesel) who survives life at Auschwitz, a Jewish concentration camp in WW2. It is hard to believe that this really happened. I can't believe that the world let this happen. I have never really thought much about what the Jews went through during this time, and it breaks my heart reading this story. It makes me so grateful for the life that I live.

If you are interested in History and learning about the Holocaust, I strongly recommend reading this book. Also, I would recommend researching Auschwitz. The things that you find will be amazingly sad. It will disgust you. But I feel that it is important to learn what has happened in the past. Maybe our knowledge of what happened then will help to prevent History from repeating itself.

Joker.

I had a scary dream last night. First of all, I had a baby. And the same day I had her she started walking haha. She must have been a genius baby. Anyways. I was at some house with my baby and the Joker from Batman came in and took her. And then he kept coming back and trying to kill me. So I was all alone in this huge house, and for some dumb reason I kept all the lights off and all of the doors unlocked. Ha ha. So the Joker was chasing me around and I ran into the closet and tried to keep the door closed, but he opened it, and it turns out it was just Mike playing a joke on me! haha. What a mean husband.

After that whole fiasco, I realized that I had to study for a test. (I have a test today). I didn't have enough time to study so I just had to hurry and go take it, and I did really bad on it. I hate having stressful school dreams. It's so annoying haha.

Anyways. That's my weird dream from last night. :) Have a nice day!

Sad Dream

Last night I had a really weird dream. I always have weird dreams lol. Anyways, Kalee, Cierra (some friends from Ruby Tuesday), and I were on top of some building. At the very edge of the building there were a bunch of locks, like those "locks of love" things. So Cierra told Kalee to go look at them and she fell off the building and died. How sad huh?!


Another part of my dream was about Jim and Pam Halpert. Except that it was real life and they weren't together. Jim had some mean girlfriend, but Pam was really in love with Jim. And she was pregnant. So she pretended to fall or something so he would come help her. I think this shows that I'm a little obsessed with this couple, and think they should really be together! hahaha. I love Jim and Pam! :)

The Story of Us. :)

Alright. I was looking at my sister-in-law's blog and she has the story of how she met her husband on there, and it was way cute! So I'm going to copy her and do the same thing. haha.

Mike and I met when I was 15 and he was 17. Actually, we had met before that, but that was the first time we actually hung out together. I have known his sister Breanne since I was in first grade. Anyways...my friend Laura called me one day and asked if I wanted to go to a movie with her and a bunch of other people, and I said yes. Since we were only 15, we coudn't drive, so Mike agreed to take us. I went over to Breanne's house for the first time, and when I walked into Mike's room, he made me turn around and leave. So I did, and when he told me to come back in he had pulled his pants down haha. Just his pants, not his boxers too. I would have left if he had done that hahah! Mike is such a weirdo. Anyways. He drove us to the movies and stayed and watched it with us. We saw Tokyo Drift lol. I was sitting by my friend Shelby and Mike convinced her to switch him seats so he could sit by me. After the movie, we decided to go to McDonalds. I didn't want anything but Mike got a hot fudge sundae. I asked if I could have a bite and he told me to just have the whole thing. I said no I just want a bite, and so I took one, not knowing that he is a huge germ freak (he still doesn't share food/drinks with me). haha. So Brie told me he was just going to throw it away. I thought she was joking. Sure enough, I look over at Mike and he is throwing away the whole freaking sundae! Silly guy. We went to the park behind my house and I got really cold. He then walked me to my house so I could get a sweatshirt. What a sweet guy lol. We hung out for a while, then he took me home. Later that night, he found me and Myspace (lol) and we started talking. He was trying to convince me to sneak out and come watch a movie with him. I didn't (of course) lol. Anyways, I think it was the next day that he called me, and we talked on the phone for like 3 hours. Then, he came and got me and took me up to the Top of the World and we watched the sunset (aww). After that, we were together every single day. About a month later he asked me to be his girlfriend (actually he asked me to be his girlfriend like the day I met him, but this time he asked seriously) and I said yes! I love him so much and am so glad I have been able to spend all this time with him. I love that were were "High School Sweethearts" because you really don't see that anymore. People think that since I got married so young I have missed out on stuff, but I don't see it that way at all. I feel more lucky than everyone else because I found my other half so early in life! I don't ever want to be without him. Love you Mike!! :)

Modern Warfare... what?!

Yeah.. So last night when I went to bed Mike was playing Modern Warfare 3. And that's what my dream was about. And that's the last thing I would want to dream about! I hate video games haha. Anyways. Mike and I were in some kind of cave thing and the "mission" or whatever was to get through the cave and kill all of the bad guys without dying. And no one could do it. Everyone kept drying, dying, and then respawing haha. So Mike and I decided not to even try and to just leave. So we left the cave, and it turns out that we were really inside of the Kmart in West Valley. So we walked out into the parking lot, got into some convertible car, and drove awa. That's pretty much all I remember haha.


On another note, today is 11/11/11. I hope that's lucky! Ha ha. Work was actually pretty good today, which almost never happens. I got to work half of my shift on the East side of our facility, and I love it over there. I'll be doing the same thing tomorrow and Sunday, so I'm happy with that.

Dreams.

Ok. I know I've gone a little crazy today haha. I'm having fun blogging instead of doing my Physiology homework :) Anyways. I decided that I'm going to try to post my dreams on here, if I can remember them the next day. I don't remember mine from last night, but the night before I had a really weird dream...

I was in some type of class, not sure which one. We had a big project due, and I was super unprepared. My partner for this project was a kid named Clayton, who I haven't seen since elementary school! Don't know how he got in my dream. Anyways. What we had to do was we had to represent the Romantic Era by doing a weird dance in front of the class. I remember I wore two dresses, both really ugly haha. and I had a catheter for some odd reason, so I had to hold it while we danced. (If you don't know what that is, it's the tube that goes into your bladder and catches your pee lol). Also, were were supposed to do a book report on a certain book, and I hadn't even started reading it, so I was freaking out about that too. It was a really weird dream. I think it means that I am stressed out about school! haha.

A Great Tip For Sore Throats!

So the other night I had a sore throat. I think I got something from a patient at work who decided to cough in my face. haha. Anyways, my throat was all scratchy and stuff, so I went online to find some ideas on how to cure it. I came across a website where people could write what they have done and found to work. There was someone who wrote that if you swallow, yes swallow, a little bit of listerine, it makes your sore throat go away. I decided to try it. I just used a small amount, the post said 1/4 of the cap full. When you swallow it, try to hold it in your throat for a few seconds. Well, it worked AMAZINGLY! Almost instantly, my sore throat was gone. It felt so good! So from now on, that will be my number one thing to do when I get a sore throat. :) Just thought I'd share!

Well I think I got it all figured out. I was kind of annoyed last night trying to figure out all of this new Blogger stuff. And then my computer started freezing... It was lovely. Anyways. I have class today at 3. :( My classes this semester are Physiology, Physiology Lab, History, and Humanities. Fun fun! Not really. I took Anatomy last semester and loved it. So I thought I would enjoy Physiology, but I don't. It's boring. haha. Well I need to go let the little doggies in. It's getting colder and colder outside! :( I hate winter!

I'm going to try!

So I haven't written a blog post since I was in my Communications class last semester, and I had to. Ha ha. Well, I have been reading some of my friends' blogs and it makes me want to blog more often. I'm going to try to keep up with it, but I probably won't do very well lol. Anyways.. Let's see what's new since the last update...?

We are in our house! Don't know if I mentioned that in any of the previous posts or not..

We have two German Shepherds! Zaeda is about 7 months old, and Cyra is 3 months old. :) Zaeda is mostly tan and Cyra is all black.

I am a CNA now. Don't know if that was mentioned previously either.. haha. I work at Red Cliffs Health and Rehab. It can definitely be a very hard and stressful job at times! I guess I should just be thankful that I have a job huh? On the bright side, most of the people I work with are awesome! :)

Now let's see if I can figure out how to add some pictures on here.. everything is different!
